My very heart leaped with delight at the sound!

Horse with a rubber chicken [much squeaking]. Horse with a big silver bouncy ball [ambient noise]. Horse with a rubber chicken, again [not so much squeaking]. Horse with a pokey reindeer and a rubber duckie [talking and teensy squeaking].

If only a herd of horses with rubber squeaky chickens
would show up for trump's inauguration speech.

You can see why noblemen chose to ride them during jousting.

Is there no danger that the horse will swallow part or all of that chicken and die? Because it looks like a lot of fun, but I wouldn't want to go down in stable annals as the despicable idiot who choked Star the Wonder Horse with a fricken rubber chicken.

Probably not. Horses love toys but they don't really eat them like dogs and cats. They mostly like things they can squash, things that make noise or they can use as a weapon. They love those big balls, most of which have a rattle in them.

This is great, I never thought about giving horses toys, but now I think "Why not give toys to horses?" Mind stretched.

Owning a horse for 7 years taught me that all the "press" about the majestic equine is just marketing. They are basically 1000 pound third graders.

So you're telling me this is basically totally realistic.

Thanks to this post, I found myself scrolling through the Miss Cellania blog, only to find that they've reblogged one of my Metafilter posts, so now I feel internet famous. Thanks!

We had a plethora of ponies when I was a kid (not all at the same time, my mum was into showing so we had one for two years, then another when I aged out of the class...etc). One of them, Minstrel, loved to mouth things to the extent that we had to provide him with footballs and the like to prevent him from causing havoc. Some things that he managed:
Removed the light bulb from the socket in his stable. We found it on the stable floor, unbroken.
Could unzip practically any jacket you cared to wear in his vicinity.
Would open own stable door and just to prove that wasnt a fluke, proceed to open the doors of his stablemates (we had to clip his door bolt shut).
Once proceeded to empty the contents of a showing judges handbag. She was so amused by him successfully removing a packet of tissues that she let him continue to see what else he might get hold of.
