Array is back

Array is back and covering the fires in Los Alamos, NM, with pictures and links to sites where people who want to can help.
I have an uncle who lives in White Rock, and who had to evacuate to Albequerque. He's managed to keep in touch with my folks via e-mail, and they have forwarded some of his messages to me.
By the way, since array is back up, I can now see his comments on Winerlog. I see now that my previous interpretation of his comments was mistaken, but I still wonder wat his reasons were for shutting down for those few days.

If you want my read, here it is.
A busy professional web designer out of generosity in his spare time puts up a bunch of graphics to help a product and community that he's part of.
Someone who yearns for attention turns them into something the designer abhors. The designer mistakenly appeals to the professionalism of the other person and gets slammed by huge amounts of flamemail. "Censorship!" says the crowd of miscreants. Oy.
In a cry of protest, the designer who is powerless to make it stop does the only thing he can do which is shut down the site. This as it turns out is pointless, because the "discussion" just moves to different places.
Eventually the electronic flames run out of energy, and in an amazing case of synchronicity, the flames show up in the forests of New Mexico.

I live in Albuquerque and you can see the smoke from the Interstate. It's surreal.
