Now I am going to be having Clutch Cargo nightmares. Other than that, thanks for posting; I'm learning a lot.

The fun thing is how American cartoons and anime differ in their cost-cutting measures. Instead of people or anthro animals wearing ties or the "stubble", filler anime episodes will reuse transformation sequences, abuse still landscape shots or do the DBZ thing where nobody moves much and they're floating on the air and shouting for most of the episode, for example.

Great post, and I love seeing Bob Chipman on my he blue. I'm going to have to watch that goofy movie sequel. The first one was surprisingly well made for what was almost a direct to video, and it looks like the sequel was too. Kinda a strangely adult, family-sitcom departure for the Disney animation house and an interesting expression of their late 2-D efforts. They never seemed to grasp that it wasn't the medium holding them back in that arena.

Goof Troop, the animated series that A Goofy Movie was based on, is also surprisingly good but not as widely beloved as other Disney animated shows of its era like Darkwing Duck or Tale Spin. For being a weird dog-thing Goofy is one of the most successful Everyman characters.

When I was a kid, Clutch Cargo and his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot freaked me out so bad I'd run from the room if it was on TV. Looking back, I think it was the mouth action that upset me. You have to admit it is pretty creepy. The theme music was pretty cool though.

I too learned some things, and a thank you is in order. Thank you!

Daffy Duck presumably wears that thing around his neck to prevent his head from falling off.

I only just recently got the joke that Grandpa Simpson uses two hands to how five when he says 'gimme five bees for a quarter'.

I was once informed by my very wise 10 year-old nephew that cartoon characters only have 4 fingers just so they can't have a middle finger. No idea how he came up with this.
