Oh thank god for things like this. I feel like the best thing, the really great thing that I can point to for the last so many years, is this welcoming of our sisters and brothers who are teaching us to understand gender and sex and openness in a new and better way. Thank you to the brave people that make our world richer and more full!

A million blessings to you Divabat for sharing this video. It finally gave me the perfect opportunity to discuss transgender issues with my young sons. In a few days I will explain that their aunt is transgender (she has told me I can explain however I think is best).

Thank you for posting this!

A few years ago I was hanging out with my mom and -- sometimes I want to talk with her, because I love her, but I don't know what to say, so I sing to her or I read something to her. I was reading aloud some short stories and poems from Jaggery, and I came across "Draupadi" by Janani Balasubramanian and read it aloud to her. I saw that Balasubramanian's pronoun is "they" and mentioned that to my mom, and this opened up the conversation for her to ask me a bunch of questions about gender nonconforming people, and about trans lives, and about queer lives more broadly.

I hope this video helps a lot of families have that conversation.
