Murder, She Wrote trading cards.

These images might spur your interest in some Murder, She Wrote rewatches, but Netflix cruelly rotated the series off its site recently.

Getting ready to cancel my Grandmother's Netflix and get her cable again. She enjoyed streaming until her favorite shows (Murder and Rockford Files) were removed. In fact, Netflix does a crummy job of offering any TV dramas from the 70s/80s. They offer zilch to elderly viewers looking for a nostalgia fix.

Angela Lansbury killed a lot of famous people, didn't she!

The very definition of "relevant to my interests"; I'm so glad these aren't available for purchase or something real stupid would be happening tonight.

They should bring MSW back. There ought to be a law, in fact, mandating that there is always at least one family series featuring a polite elderly woman sniffing out murderers. Oprah would have been perfect for this! HBO, btw, had a series (based on a character in a book) called Number One Ladies Detective Agency. It was terrific, but it only lasted on short season.

I mean, Sweeney Todd should have been enough of a warning.

Beholder - your grandma will probably enjoy ME TV and Family Net channels.

Yes, and GetTV, and Decades, and uh, there's a couple of other broadcast repertory channels that are probably also on cable. There's a game show repeats (50s-80s) channel called Buzzr. And Murder She Wrote is on....COZI-TV for two hours every day and three hours on Sundays.

Lots of great channels for repeats these days, and a lot of them get it. It's kind of a rennaissance.

That's, like, fully 20% of the BBC's output. Just import it.

I hope they do this with the Rockford Files- I just finished binging the first season (thanks, Hulu!), which includes Ned Beatty as a an evil Wall Street executive and a very 70's Hector Elizondo.

Given what he grew into, it's amazing how unattractive George Clooney looks.

I mean, he's hotter now, but he was still plenty attractive then.

...which was the style at the time.

I believe The Facts of Life, where he was brought on for Season 7 ratings boosting beefcake (as I'm sure you all know), is proof that George Clooney has always been hot, it's just the definition of hot that changed around us. For us to pretend otherwise means we ignore the cultural mistakes we may have made along the way, and I think that's dangerous unless we want the forefront of masculine hotness to mean mullets AND mousse again. And though I appreciated it the first time around, that's not happening on my watch again.

Given we're now getting Big Bang Theory spinoffs, a literary crime show is probably the furthest thing from any network's schedule.
