Yes, I wholeheartedly endorse Tom Gauld and have been jealous of his jetpack for years. Artistically, he hits the sweet spot/mid-point between XKCD and SMBC, and avoids much of the snark of either, so if you consider either of the Top 2 Science-y webcomics to be too ANYTHING, go for the Gauld.

These are so good! I've somehow missed Mr. Gauld's output.

Tom Gauld is great. I’ve got copies of “You’re all just jealous of my jetpack” & “Goliath” sitting on the shelf next to me right now.

I recognize at least 3 items on the front page that have been circulated in my twitter feed without attribution, and I'm glad to have a context for them. Great fun! Thanks for posting!

I love Tom Gauld, I have two of his books. I gave a collection book to my sister and she absolutely hated it, his stuff might be hit or miss for some people.

I have this cartoon on my office wall because I work in a science place and it is relevant to my life experiences. I hope academia isn't a requirement to liking Tom's work.

Also, he is from nearby so I have a locality bias.

The damn video popup won't go away unless you join Tumbler. Covers them up. A waste of time this way, but they appear to be clever cartoons. Too bad one can't see them.

I did not see any popup (had I seen one I'd have added a warning) but then I use noscript and ublock origin.

I'm on a Mac running Safari with no blockers or anything and saw no video popup and I am not a member of Tumblr.
