Pets can be jealous, too: Dogs tend to be whiny and needy, whereas cats often try to take out the competition. (Sometimes cats get overprotective.) [all videos contain ambient noise only]

jealous chihuahuas ❤️ I grew up with them, I miss them so bad

Oh my god, everything in the first video could be taken out of Tribble's handbook. The first time I ever hugged my partner where she could see, she barked in alarm and then broke us up. She was ridiculous about learning to share human attention with the cats. Five minutes ago she was staring deeply into my eyes and trying to smash buttons on my keyboard so I would love on her some more.

On the other hand, newest cat Ishka is currently sitting in my lap being snuggled. When I stopped petting her for a moment to type this, she leaned over and bit me. This is a new and unpleasant development for a cat whose rescuer sold us on her by saying she was a fat sweet lazy cat who didn't move and was just happy to take attention and pets whenever they were offered!

Tommy the Cat always gets jealous when I'm using the phone. He doesn't want my attention; he wants the phone for himself.

My newest cat will kick the other two off the bed, eat their food, take their toys away, slap the phone out of my hand, and insert himself between me and whatever cat I am petting. If he were a boyfriend I'd DTMFA.

Don't forget that birds love scritches, too! Though they're a bit weird about them sometimes.

(None of the above are mine, I don't have enough hands to scritch them and film at the same time.)

My dog is so jealous, he hates it when I'm on the phone. Sometimes he tries to kill the computer too.
So my friends are increasingly worrying why I only call them when I'm out of the house.

My favorite are always the real subtle ones. "Oh, did my paw rest on your arm for a second? Oops, didn't mean to pull your am over towards me, won't happen again."

We have Pippy the Ninja Chihuahua in the lower left who will suddenly appear in your lap while you were doing something else. She gets jealous and barky when my wife and I hug. Hugo on the top left will bull himself in between everyone. Sammy (top right) will sit next to you and use his nose to fling your hand up to scratch his ears. Betty just dances with my wife and runs from me.

I think I might be a bad doggie parent. :)

Speaking of birds, here's a parrot chatting about scritches in Dutch.

According to my cat Tia, this is why I have two hands: so I can pet her and pet Dorothy the husky-dog at the same time. Woe to me if I fail to do this. If these videographers would put down the camera, they could do their duty.

I had to turn off the notifications for instant messages on my computer, because it pissed off the dog. She also dislikes typing.

My childhood dog, King the Giant Chocolate Lab, would get up behind you, insert his nose between your arm and side, and worm and wiggle until you were sitting with your arm around him.
