The children knew, though. Children loved her.

Oh this is so gorgeous and sad. Her paintings are arrestingly beautiful. Between this and the Oliver Sacks post I'm feeling a lot of feelings about love and art and wonder. Thanks for posting.

Lovely, albeit sad, story.

(Also love Lisa's domain, for personal reasons.)

Close to my worst nightmare. Deep sympathy to Lisa as she figures out what her life will look like without Heather.

I don’t want my memories of her and knowledge of her work to die with me. I am putting this message in a bottle and throwing it in the wine-dark sea of the Interwebs; be a wave and push it along to whatever unknown shore Fate will take it.

For reasons, this is what really brought tears for me. She sounds like she was so magical. She looked magical. Her work was magical. She inspired poetry.

Thanks for sharing this.

This is lovely. If you're in the mood to encounter more art inspired by grief, check out the album "A Crow Looked At Me" by Mount Eerie. Just heartbreaking.
