I first found them as part of NPR's SXSW 100 last year and when I heard their Tiny Desk Concert they pretty much instantly, and I mean withing all of 2 chords, cemented themselves as my favorite band. Their songs manage to pack so much raw emotion even in very succinct lyrics (1994 has all of 9 lines and it can bring me to tears) that just mesh so well with their hyper-energetic guitar licks.

Their very inclusive concert policies and mountains of glitter certainly don't hurt.

Since it wasn't included above, here's a link to their 2017 SXSW NPR set, featuring a few new songs off of Pageant, a guest appearance by Alynda Lee Segarra from Hurray For The Riff Raff and a poem that kills fascists.

They're so much damn fun. I'm due to see them when they hit the East Coast this spring and I bet their show is going to be THE MOST FUN EVER.

Mod note: A couple deleted. Sorry, but if there are reasonable sources for multiple accusations of various bad behavior and/or crimes committed by these band members that people should know about, it's best to provide links rather than "I heard" sort of stuff – the internet and people being what they are.
