There are a lot of dumb birds out there. Here's how you can figure out what they are.

This is fun and well executed, although the generalized misavesthropy brings me down.

As a biologist who has never been able to get into birds, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you.

It's amazing how a country so highly associated with politeness gave its name to such jerks.

If you're seeking a more kind, nuanced approach to avian observation, notyou, may I suggest Dispatches from the Academy of Bird Science? The author would never outright dismiss a bird (she'd lose all her connections within sparrow communities in minutes) and treats topics such as the pain of dental abnormality with great sensitivity.

Many of these birds have flown thousands of miles

I just wish they wouldn't start bragging about it at the tops of their voices at 5am every goddamn morning.

The Lady Fez is a bird watcher. This is exactly how I feel about that activity.

Turdus migratorius.

The latin name for American Robin.

It doesn't actually mean 'flying shit' though.

I enjoy watching and identifying the birds in my area especially since moving to the PNW from the South and there are all sorts of new birds here to see. But everything in the link is spot-the-fuck-on. I was amazed the first time I saw a Steller's Jay -- a striking bird. Then I heard the fucker sing.

ckape: It's amazing how a country so highly associated with politeness gave its name to such jerks.

They're our alter ego. They are centuries of anger, resentment, hostility, and frustration, shoved behind our nationally-mandated veneer of politeness, manifested demoniacally in feathery, beaky, honky, smelly, birdshit-sprayin'-everywhere physical form, which you will never, ever be able to overlook, or condescend to, or disregard (unlike us human mammalian Canadians standing quietly over here, well out of your way, hoping you'll notice us when we wave tentatively in your direction). Eh?
