Blowing Up St Helens

It took ten years of waiting for the right conditions, but on April 21, Aaron Sales made the 3,150-foot ascent to the rim of Mt. St Helens in a record-setting 35 minutes...using a kite. He also made a 200-foot, 40-second snow kite jump.

I wouldn't have thought so, but 40 seconds is long enough for me to watch, get bored, keep watching, get bored again, and finish watching the jump.

Super cool.

I had a skateboard in junior high school, but I never got close to 40 seconds of air. I bet they are having a ton of fun out there.

I've been up to the rim twice. It's a hell of a hike. This is the way to do it.

Loved the faint "WOOO" off in the distance near the end of that flight.
