Some kind of order and harmony

NeSpoon is a Polish urban artist who adds softness and delicacy to urban landscapes through the use of lace patterns. Treehugger offers a quick way to see a few works in her different styles. My personal favourites might be the ceramic enhancements to trees that form her Park Project.

I was actually look for more information about this completely unrelated installation of crocheted lace bubbles when I discovered NeSpoon and got seriously distracted. So take a look at that, too. It's pretty cool.

Enchanting! In this world, painting doilies on buildings does not happen nearly enough.

But those crochet urchins. Wow. That's a lot of hooking. I understand why they'd need to be made of polyester, good abrasion resistance with less water absorbtion and less stretch than nylon.

I kind of want to make one for my backyard now.

If you go to the architect's page re: the Urchin project, they have a list of the 50 or so people who actually did all that crocheting. So, yeah, it was apparently no small task.
