This song has a really cool texture to it. Her vocal fry really comes out and much of the rest of the mix sounds lowpassed to specifically make space for that.

omg this is SO AWESOME. if you have never experienced summertime chub rub well...damn. I love seeing all those women and girls, all the sizes, colors, shapes and ages just reveling in ownership of their strong awesome bodies! and cool tune.

That was GREAT. Thank you for posting it! The song is super-catchy, the message awesome, the women in the video fantastic. Also, I love that her album is called Feminasty!

I'm 63. I can only make out half of the lyrics. I love what I can hear, and it's pissing me off not to know the rest!!

I remember when I first decided I had thunder-thighs. I was in the fourth grade. Just the age of that girl on the stoop, I suppose. All I knew was that Cathy said she had them, in the comics, and her legs looked like mine, and they weren't sexy, because she said so, and they sure didn't look bony and tan like the other girls' legs.

I can't imagine what it must be like for a kid to be around such strong, confident women who can dance and eat in public just as they want.

Incidentally, "Boom-click, they smack when I stride" goes very well with the tune and rhythm of "Boom-clap, the sound of my heart."

Which may have been the point, if my few moment's googling is to be believed.
