Animal in the sack

Snuggle sacks for animals are totally a thing. They're easy to make. Or you could just use a pillowcase.

Unrelated, but so damn cute: a fox getting scritches.

so what you're saying is...

The cat's not out of the bag.

Two cats in the bag. Sometimes Jake does just use a pillowcase. Sometimes he improvises.

My hamsters favorite thing in the world was my sisters old fleece sock. Sorry sis!

Cute.

A pouch is on the list of things(pdf, see page 2) you need to do wildlife rescue in Australia.

Quickly place the joey into a pillowcase or similar pouch and keep warm and dark (down the front
of your own shirt is great).

It's pretty simple, marsupials grow up in pouches until they can survive on their own. Without a pouch, well...

Here's a joey having a drink all snug in a pouch.

If for some reason I ever have to get a dog, I want one that looks like a fox.

That fox would be Juniper, her Instagram is a joy. https://www.instagram.com/juniperfoxx

It's not fair that someone else gets to have a fox and baby kangaroos and I don't.

OMG lemonade, you should totally make a FPP of Juniper 😍

Remembers the time my little sister tried to put our cat in a pillowcase. It was less cute than this given the amount of open wounds that resulted.

I think I need to make my cats a snugglesack.

......I think I need to make it large enough to join them.

I think that's called a sleeping bag.

Aaaand now I'm thinking how awesome it would be to have a sleeping bag full of dozy foxen.

Pillowcases also make handy transport devices if your cat is opposed to a crate or you do not own a crate and need to get the cat to the vet.

Well now I know what the well-scritched fox says, anyhow.

Fleece sock as hamster cave seems like a good end for a sock. :)

When I was five we had a family reunion at my Great Aunt Joy's house...she had a pet fox. I spent the entire day socializing with and stalking the fox instead of paying attention to people. I am 44 now and that is still how events go when there is a floofy animal to visit with.

My ferrets loved those things. Used to hide 'em in all their favorite napping spots.

Thanks for this very important PSA. I was not aware of snuggle sacks and all the adjacent sack-based activity. My animals thank you for their future of snuggling!

We have just adopted a hound so clearly we now need a fox so we can reinact that Disney movie I refuse to watch because it's sad. But my house would be happy and full of scritches.

AND an excellent emergency fire evacuation vehicle for cats. If you can scoop em up before they have hidden from the alarms.

Duke's Lemur Center is looking for donated jeans pockets for their mouse lemurs. Apparently they hang these pockets on a mesh curtain so the little lemurs can climb up and sleep in them.

They are looking for men's pockets (not women's), since, you know. Women's pockets are too small.

I have looked and looked for a photo or video showing mouse lemurs in jeans pockets, but haven't found one yet.

That's because the Duke Lemur Center knows that we would all die of cuteness overload.
