I loved how the dog in the first link was all, oh hey, I'm just gonna snuggle my butt up to this guy's chair and lie down for a rest. *yawn*

And that dachshund! It was on a mission! Hilarious.

You know you've made it as a conductor when a stray wanders in to settle down by your First Violin and relaxes. If Wise Old Doggo is digging the gig, it's a sure thing the Frens in the seats are grooving to your tunes.

Golden retrievers, many of them purebred, roam the streets of Turkey after being abandoned by their owners in droves.

They have a difficult time because they don't fight other dogs and aren't as aggressive. There are many, many rescue operations that bring those dogs to the states for adoption.

So, if you ever wanted a golden retriever but feel the need to adopt, find one of those organizations in your state and they may be able to connect you with a dog in need.

Heh. My sister is a clarinetist and our parents' dog definitely preferred some music over others. Not a big fan of Stravinsky.

Ha! My dog (German Shepherd mix) howls at church bells. We were out on a walk in a park with a bandshell a few years ago....the orchestra was playing, the towns folk were enjoying the music, all was well until the percussionist began to play the bells. Luce began to howl. And when she is howling she is FOCUSED on howling and will not move. There was gentle chuckling as I dragged her away.

A couple of years ago someone made the mistake of bringing a basset hound to Chautauqua and attempting to walk it in the vicinity of the (open-air) amphitheatre in the evenings, and forgot to tell it that an orchestral concert is not a talent show. The best part was that the owners didn't learn. They showed up every night.

I love how the conductor's reaction when he saw it was just to look at it for a few seconds, then give this little shrugging nod like "well, alright then" and keep going.
