I think we're making history

Louis C.K. presents a trailer for the documentary Check It, about a group of LGBTQ kids in DC who, in response to trans- and homophobic violence, have formed a street gang to protect themselves and each other. (There's a Louis-free version of the trailer at the link as well.) (Content warning: Violence.)
Everything Louis sells on his site costs $5 per download, and I guess he's making money off that when it comes to his own stuff, so I'd expect it to be more than break-even. I sent a reply to his notification mailout asking what the split is for Check It and will copy any response here.

I cut this movie, thanks for posting about it! From what I understand, Louie's cut is only to cover server costs, he's not profiting at all. I can't remember the exact percentage, but it's way way lower than iTunes or Amazon. (where it will be eventually as well.) Go watch it!

Thanks for posting. I'm surprised I haven't seen this pop up in my trans groups.
