when memes colide

when memes colide domokun + developers = domopers. even when it's the fuzzy happiness of domokun there's something about balmers raving that makes me have nightmares. on the plus side it's done quite well... so it's got that going for it.

Good effort on the part of the creators, but . . . but why, Spock? Why? It even has the exact same audio/music track as the original. There's only so much Domo-gesticulation you can watch before ennui sets in, if you ask me. Dancemonkey himself, however, is timeless.

On a related note, anyone know where I can get one of these? I remember Urban Outfitters used to carry 'em, but don't think they do anymore.

I got some cool Domokun drinking glasses from Wizzywig Collectables a month or so ago... they have lots of other nifty domostuff. My heart still belongs to Kogepan, but man... Domokun is so awesome.

I'm all about giving credit where credit is due; however, I don't think making a 3 minute Quicktime using only 7 different scenes (opening scene, newsdesk, guitar, fire, night time, space, cheerleaders) -- in which the sound isn't even cleverly synched -- is anywhere near deserving. The first developers mix had both its originality and technical handiwork going for it. This version has neither.

what a coincidence. I went to a rather well-done (if small) rave put on by echo23 a while ago. strangely, they (at that time) showed little if any net-savvy. It's good to know that, in some small, weird way, that they are keeping busy.

mcwetboy - thanks for posting - Ballmer is more entertaining than a domokun any day. Can that man S*W*E*A*T or what?

Hankins - indeed you touch upon the problem with the young folk today - all idea and no sweat (they should take a lesson from the Ballmer). Just to feel smart for a minute because no one else has yet put images of Domokuns to this clearly awesome soundtrack... The cleverness of it is not enough.

To the theme of the original posting, 'when memes collide,' I don't think this was so much a collision as someone confusing video editing with juxtaposition with irony with humor.

"balmer"? Is that tomorrow's weather? Is MeFi IRC?

Damn, DH. Let the territory between IRC and the NYT copy desk breathe free, fer Kryst's sake.
