Motörhead's previously unreleased version of David Bowie's classic 'Heroes'... a new covers album will be out in September.

Some other tracks to be included are their covers of:

Judas Priest's 'Breaking The Law'
The Sex Pistols' 'God Save The Queen'
The Rolling Stone's 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' and 'Sympathy For the Devil'
Twisted Sister's 'Shoot 'Em Down'
and Metallica's 'Whiplash'

Sometimes just a few words can tell you all you need to know. As soon as they sang "You'll be my queen," instead of "you will be queen" I had a pretty good idea of where they were headed and what they were going to do to the song. So I wasn't surprised that the dolphins never showed up.

I got to see Motorhead play live in Lemmy's twilight years and, despite being well into his sixties, that gentleman gifted me the truest rock and roll concert experience I have ever had.

I love Motorhead, and I love Bowie, but...

This is posthumous production...Lemmy's vocal sounds like it was recorded as he was singing along casually while listening on an iPod, solving a crossword puzzle on a tour bus, or something...I would be surprised if that is his actually his hand on the bass track, too.

That was... unexpectedly good. I think that "'Heroes'" is pretty much a perfect song, so AFAIC the fewer changes to it the better, which is why I like the Wallflowers' cover better than Peter Gabriel's, but the lyrical changes in this version kind of worked.

I miss Bowie, and Lemmy.
