People standing on top of things: Norwegian outdoor edition

While the tourist board of Norway already arguably has the easiest job in the world, with fjords, the aurora borealis, arctic landscapes or just everything, drones add another dimension. Now, it's easy to capture the Norwegian pursuit of standing on top of scenery. For example, Norway from Above 2 (especially 3:33 onwards) contains several examples, as does the prequel (1:40 onwards, vertigo). Or, also by Mathias Haughom, there is Trolltunga (and more). Of course, there is also the famous and busy Preikestolen (Preacher/Pulpit Rock) and more, and also by Simen Haughom there is the Kjerag boulder and some more Lofoten. Of course, what goes up...

Well, that is beautiful. Such a pitiful word for all of that, the breathtaking turquoise, arctic waters, reflections, waterfalls, pristine villages, clean air. Then vertigo inducing base jumping bonanza, dedicated to a lost jumper whose last name is so close to lemming.

We were able to go up to Lofotens 2 summers ago. We went to the beach really early on in the 'more lofoten' link. It was stunning, as you can see it looks tropical. MY SO went in for a dip so she could say she had swum in the arctic, that was not at all tropical. We did say at the time that the massive table like mountain above it would make a great GoT castle, though I suspect shooting anything arctic Norway makes it prohibitive. There were quite a few stunning beaches, we did a tour on the sunniest day. Well worth a visit, though we were lucky to pick the year the price of oil tanked and the Norwegian krona with it, it was still pricey. Norwegian air do some great bargain flights. Of course we were contributing to the demand that now means Norway is considering opening the Lofotens up to oil drilling.

Stood on top of Preikestolen and Kjeragbolten.

Both amazing places, even if you're terrified of heights like me.
