In the vein of bejeweled, tetris, and various other incredibly addictive games, comes Collapse. Mmmm, Friday flash.

First game: 188,577 -- Fun game. A real test of whether you'reusing the ideal pointing device. :-)

Is it Friday already? Ack!

I first saw this a little while ago and downloaded the shareware version, which is better - but I only ever play it on a laptop with a trackpad - not ideal. After about level seven of that version it gets *really* nasty without a mouse....

Please...no more! I'm begging you; look into your heart, man!
I caught that darned Bejeweled thread. I'm cooking up one helluva case of carpal tunnel & I haven't done anything productive since.
Have some mercy on those of us with precious little self-control....no more games.

I've been playing this one off and on for several weeks now, but I concur that it's a worthy game to mention on MeFi. Very fast paced and challenging. I can rarely make it past level ten personally. The download is crippleware but if you have the money to spend and enjoy it, it's worth the price. I have a relative who is mildly addicted to the game, but the online version that's just flash is tolerable. The pay version includes bonus rounds that are puzzle oriented. Depending on how you click in what order, you can clear the screen with relative ease. It takes thinking on your feet which is a major plus for any computer game.

It's very similar to the quarter play bar-top games, where you can play nekkid phothunt or solitaire, trivia. Makes me want a beer.

you've probably discovered this, but if you clear the entire board you get a hell of a lot of bonus points.

Hmm, I'm only at 70,000 or so. I gotta move faster.

Oh incidentally its a Java game, althought it could have been done in any of those plugin thingies.

386,000 and change for a high score. I've been playing this game since I found it weeks ago. We've developed competitions at my office (and my home) to see who can get the higher score. Ahh...much better than actual work ;-)

It's a fun game, but it's been mentioned.

Oops. Double double post notification.

yeah double post. but it's not a bad one... don't mind seeing it again. oh by the way... my highest score was 3.5 million-ish at level 12. it might seem a little unbelievable. i mean the first time i heard some guy say he got 1 million +, i thought he was full of shit. but on my mother's life i swear it's true.

the trick is to get huuuuuge combos, try to save just one color to set it up. color bombs help a LOT. save them for when you need them.

yes, i have no fucking life. =)

I got a lot of points but have yet to figure out how to play. . I'm just randomly clicking. .I'm up on level 4 now, paused.

Danf: click on a group of three or more contiguous tiles and it will disappear. The tiles above it will fall down on the ones below, and if there's a completely empty vertical column, the tiles to the side will scoot inward.

If you time it right you can get the compacting blocks to form new groups which you can then click for more points.

That's about all there is to it.

i'm all for games but i think this is more of a speed-clicking test than anything else, surely no tetris.

I just got 996,000 - level 10...it rocks!

Okay, so I got up to level 6 before realising that I could click anywhere on the screen, not just the bottom level. Me smart.
