Have you ever wondered about this particular thread?

Because, it turns out, this thread is real.

It's happening right now.

Someone has to make this thread awesome....

And that someone is you.

A "booj" in this context is a noise that falls quickly into pummeling sub bass, or bass drop. In the same family of trailer superfriends as the Bwarm and the Rising Tension Strings and the Evil Goose, though.

Brilliant. I can't wait for release date.

When does it come out? Certainly sounds better than most trailers recently.

The palindrome of "booj" is "joob", not maaaaaaaawb! It don't work, y'see!

How to make modern internet satire

List the characteristics of the thing in the same format of the thing.

Make sure your wording is sarcastic as possible so people know it's supposed to be funny.

Be as literal as possible so as not to impede your scorn of the fact that various media have conventions that it is possible to make an outline of.

Get confused by how meta things are getting.

Lay down.

Cry.

Loved it. Missing only the reversion - just after to finalunreadable credits- to the sound of popcorn being munched, Facebook checked and soda slurped worn maximum indifference.

> "... various media have conventions that it is possible to make an outline of."

There is a difference between noting that, say, almost all books have a climactic moment and noting that massive numbers of movie trailers have gotten so formulaic that it is possible to say "bwaaam noise goes HERE".

Do MetaFilter threads have conventions that it is possible to make an outline of?

I don't know, but if there is, this is the part where the OP kindly asks several of the commentators to take their sidebar to MeTa.

I almost posted an Ask to find out the term for that one sound -- you know, the one that ends the scene after something relevatory or dangerous in BSG or, like, The 100. That sounds like air being sucked out of the room?

String cluster!

Thanks!

I can't wait to see `film title` it looks awesome, but there's no way it can capture all the subtlety and nuance of `comic book title`.

Also, I LOL'd when the unexpected cover kicked in, I wasn't expecting it at all!

Very distracting how the words described the visuals we were not seeing and also the audio we were hearing. I guess it'd take quite a bit more work to do the former though.

Come for the hamfisted trailer riff, stay for the Boston Dynamics 'I Love Box'... because Dan loves his family even if he is going to be the first one against the wall when the robots take over...

I adore the Auralnauts. Their guaranteed improvements on Transformers: Age of Extinction cracks me up.

"OREOBOT! NOOOOOO!"

PS: The end sequence of Star Wars is really creepy w/o Williams bombasting it up but that might just be Creepio lurking in the background

Last week I was trying to get my kids into some classic '80s movies, and we had it narrowed down to either Gremlins or The Princess Bride. So we checked out the trailers (1, 2) on Youtube. It's amazing how much the conventions have changed since the '80s - neither trailer held my kids' interest at all (nor mine, to be honest, even though I really enjoyed both movies), and I'm not sure we even made it to the end of both of them! It's hard to say that trailers have gotten better as such, but they've definitely tightened up a lot since then - everything about the timing of the old trailers just seems off somehow...

Crikey, I hit subs to make out the voice overs. Spanish? Really? And the autotranslate BACK to English did NOT work a DAMN.

Other than that....

A new vision in meta-film making.
Some hip new director you may not have even heard of before. But he's so HOT right now.
