Foo Fighters featuring Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up. The Foo Fighters rickrolled their audience with the real thing in an interesting mashup.

Rick Astley is a good sport and I wish Foo Fighters were my neighbors.

Hearing Rick Astley yell "Come on you mother fuckers!" is both unnerving and hilarious.

This is brilliant.

Wonder when we'll see Foo Fighters doing a Smells Like Teen Spirit / More Than A Feeling / Never Gonna Give You Up mashup.

R-rated rickroll incoming.

Never Gonna Give You Up is probably SAW's finest achievement (followed closely by the Mel & Kim hits and a handful of Kylies). Where was this? Was it a home gig for Mr Astley?

Anyway, I had a big silly grin on my face all the way through that.

Taylor Hawkins kind of lost it too.

Context: This was at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2017; artists perform over the weekend, splitting between Tokyo and Osaka. The festival normally books a wide range of artists to perform in multiple stages over the period; Foo Fighters were one of the headliners along with BabyMetal for one day, while Calvin Harris and Black Eyed Peas headlined the other. Rick Astley was one of the later additions to the roster.

In related news, if someone out there has the video of Rick Astley doing Highway to Hell (on drums AND vocals) on his Osaka set, that's equally worthy of your internet time.

Teenaged Me would be appalled to know that Middle Aged Me loved this to pieces.

Impressive that this video managed to troll me, even though I knew what it was going in. Left channel seems to go in and out, making me think I had a headphone problem.

Because I have not yet blocked YouTube comments on this fresh install of my OS, I did get to see this gem:

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the fact that this was recorded horizontally?

Not bad.

Slightly better version without the audio issues in the video linked in the post.

I thought he was supposed to be sort of a Christian artist now?

I feel mahrvelous, and it is better to feel good than to look good.

This is a good rock and roll moment.

That opening deen-a dee-nee-nee-nee riff always makes me happy - I wish they had made it more Nirvana-y. It was fantastic to see Rick Astley unleash his inner rocker after watching that cheesy NGGYU video way too many times in the late 80s.

I will never get sick of this. If I am ever forced into karaoke, that is what will happen.
This is a good rick and roll moment.

Reminded of this Nine Inch Nails / Rick Astley mashup by BRAT Productions, which is just masterfully done. Ooops, too late, falling down a hole of Commodores/The Cure mashups...

THIS. Perfect combination of adjectives, there!

I wish he had worn a trench coat and done a few of those sweet, sweet "dance" moves from the original video, though. Cheesey, yet so pure. Sigh. Nostalgia.

I loved this. Surprised how well the song works as a rock song!
