Emily Flies Solo

Emily Saliers on Her Adventurous Solo Debut is a Paste Magazine conversation with one half of iconic Folk-Rock duo Indigo Girls about her first solo album, 3 decades into IG's career. First single is Poethearted, an admittedly very Emily track. But check out album opening track Spider.

In fact, here's a playlist of the entire Murmuration Nation album, except for one track.

The excluded track, OK Corral is about US society and gun control. It includes lyrics like "You think those weapons makers love your liberty / They're collecting the cash while they watch you bleed."

It's a great song, really. Lyrically brutal. There is no trace of it online, not even a lyrics link.

OK Corral is included in the list at this page on youtube

This is a somewhat different sound for her and I like it!

Ooh, I had no idea she was making a solo album! I know Amy is the 'cooler' one, but I've always preferred Emily's lyricism, so I'm excited about this. Will definitely download. Thx hippybear!
