Matt Chats with Cats

"He big, he beg, he only have three leg." A surprisingly underrated YouTube channel in which a man named Matt chronicles his ongoing adventures with the various stray cats of his neighborhood, including an ongoing, unrequited and increasingly bold affair with a stray calico behind the back of his own feline.

If this guy isn't a voice actor he is seriously missing his calling.

This is great and I love this but besides 'ongoing adventures' possibly those aren't strays, just friendly neighbors.

He really has quite the round voice, very reminiscent of Simon Pegg.

Srsly. I just want him to read to me while I take a bubble bath.

Also, the subscriber number for his channel went up at least two while I was watching videos. (One was me.)

I want to go to the magical land of interesting cats this lovely man lives in. (I also subscribed).

Awww... Cats are so cute on every scale, even when they walk right up to the camera and look like giants.

The cats are adorable, but I'll be That Guy
and admit that I'd be more than a bit irked to catch this plummy-voiced belter shoveling handfuls of Dreamies, a treat we were advised specifically against by the rescue shelter, into my cat unbidden.

Time to bring the catio plans forward.

All these years of being an Anglophile and I still just cannot deal with the word "stroke" in this context. Please see to this opportunity for disturbing pet-related double entendres, Britain. Thank you.

Given that "petting" is a euphemism for sexual foreplay I'm not sure that we're the ones making things dodgy.

Thankfully, for the sake of a family friendly euphemism-free thread, we are discussing catting and not dogging.

One million painful references to Mollie Sugden's cat.

What's wrong with these Dreamies?

Those who let their cats roam freely about the neighborhood have no cause to complain about anything their cats eat whatsoever. Really, the occasional Dreamie is the least of their worries.

Dreamies are apparently just cat garbage junk food, although my source on this is only the hearsay of a few fellow cat owners. Regardless, I think there's significant difference between "I accept my cat might eat some right old shit if I let them roam free" and "If some goon starts going out of his way to feed my pets for internet likes, I have no right to be irritated".

(my guy is an FIV rescue, so he stays indoors anyhow, but still.)

Betcha Dreamies have propylene glycol (PG to the vaping crowd) in them, which was determined to cause blood disorders specifically in cats. This is why semi-soft 'pouch' foods like Tender Vittles were taken off American shelves back in the 90's or so.

The end goal of which is con-cat-enation.

Some internet resources suggest dreamiest are high in fat. Not necessarily reliable.sources though.

Yes, Matt has a nice voice, and he's so kind to the kitties! I'm highly allergic to cat dander, so videos are unfortunately the only way to get my kitty fix. I also like the lady who fosters cats and has how-to videos on how to take care of cats.

anyone who liked these videos should check out Kedi (trailer), a documentary about street cats in Istanbul. It is charming as heck. (cw: one sad moment in which they take an injured kitten to the hospital, the rest is not sad).

Gotta be honest, I would totally let Peter Serafinowicz read to me. See also: Hugh Laurie, Eddie Izzard, John Taylor, David Bowie's energy.

In cat news: Probably going to end up with two cats soon. One of them is a grey guy that showed up in my yard a few months back. The other is a rescue grey tabby who was part of a community cat program and he managed to get hit by cars twice that they know about. Has to have an eye and a tooth removed.

Yeah at first I was like "those strays look awful healthy," then realized he's just creeping on people's pets.

He does have a nice voice though.
