This has to be the funniest article I've seen in a long time. Those wacky Palestinians.

Sorry, should have said this was already posted on fark.com. I did search and found nothing on isrealinsider, so I don't think it was posted here on MeFi yet.

Okay, let me get this straight....Isreali propoganda to snuff Palestinian propoganda....means that either:
1) This is a real story, meaning the Palestinian's inability to create propoganda is undermined by the 'truth' of Israeli media, or...
2) This story is in itself propoganda...and it was fabricated by the Israelis to cover up Palestinian propoganda involving the massacres that occured. In essence, the best propoganda machine wins.
My head hurts

To my untrained eye, those are kids, youngsters, playing with something that is very natural for them: death

Nothing conclusive, IMHO.

World politics, in a nutshell.

Well, that and a bunch of guns.

I can't tell what the heck is going on in that distant, blurry thing. Looked like 5 ninjas carrying a green door back from Home Depot.

I can't find the thread, but something similar was posted recently. Another blurry video of some people moving around. The site displaying the stills claimed that Israelis had beaten and arrested a Palestinian, planted fake suicide-bombing paraphernalia on the site and then gone through the motions of safe-defusing the "bomb" in order to make their arrest appear more legitimate.

I couldn't see shit in that one, either.

My point is: posting low-quality video with interpretive discourse is not journalism. The folks who do it offer this air of eyewitness-legitimacy, but it's bunk when the video itself shows nothing clear (like 3 cops continually beating a prone suspect). I'd rather receive the story, sans video, from a reputable news source.

"'Good morrow, fool,' quoth I. 'No, sir,' quoth he,
'Call me not fool till heaven hath sent me fortune:'
And then he drew a dial from his poke,
And, looking on it with lack-lustre eye,
Says very wisely, 'It is ten o'clock:
Thus we may see,' quoth he, 'how the world wags.'

The Middle East is the dog. We are its tail. How the world wags, indeed.

Imagine your life being so fucked-up that it ever even crossed your mind to stage a fake funeral. Yeah, those wacky Palestinians.

Imagine your parents having fucked up your life so bad that you don't know the difference between decency; and lies, propaganda; leadership and Yasser Arafat's mafia.

Or they were trying to smuggle a wanted man out of the area, and did it by faking a funeral.

FFF: were the Palestinians jumping for joy at Iraq's scuds making it to Israel; and those jubilant at the WTC attacks creating diversions for smuggling men out of the area?

Me neither. As much as I enjoyed this Arab Monty Phyton thing, why don't we just allow a few UN observers in there and try to really figure out what happened

And we can go on and on, don't you think Paramus?

Who's right, then?

Khal-El, maybe? He was rised in a starship from Krypton!

"were the Palestinians jumping for joy at Iraq's scuds making it to Israel; and those jubilant at the WTC attacks creating diversions for smuggling men out of the area?"

was that intended to be relevant or comprehensible? if the incident you're referring to was not staged (which to this day is not clear), then it is an example of extraordinarily irresponsible journalism driven by an equally hateful agenda.

ParisParamus - I don't care what your opinion is of me or my parents.

What I am saying is that for anyone, even "Yasser Arafat's mafia", to be staging a funeral, things must have got pretty bad. I'd wager that you don't see that many fake funerals in Houston or Chicago.

So like Matteo says... let's get some UN investigators (yes, "investigators") in there to find out what is really going on.

...and if it was staged, then it was done for the sake of that same hateful agenda.

To be seen on Fox's "When Propaganda Goes Wrong!."

I don't disagree with you, although there is something faintly reminiscent of Yasser Arafat in Al Sharpton and other locals of his ilk.

The UN has demonstrated itself incapable of mounting anything objective when it comes to Israel (or probably, any country). What's open to debate is whether Israel helped or harmed itself more by adopting the "no investigation" strategy.

I'm skeptical of any news that comes from a site named "Israeli Insider". Let's face it, the site has a bias. At the same time, I get skeptical of all the skepticism. The Palestinian reaction to the WTC bombing staged? The WTC bombing itself staged, by Jews that didn't show up for work that day? Jenin as a battle staged in order to provide cover for an intended massacre? The list goes on and on. Really, I think a lot of it comes from the same wacko mentality that leads people to believe that the moon landing was staged. There is no amount of evidence that conspiracy theorists won't twist or ignore in order to tailor their conclusions to their own absolutist point of view.

Israel Insider may be biased, but it's an excellent site that holds itself to very high standards.
