LOL, nobody likes this dude. Awesome video, though! I love time capsules.

The 2010s-era auto-stabilization applied to 1990s-era handheld video is weirding me out a little bit, especially when the timestamp starts to wander. I love it.

I highly, highly appreciated running it through a stabilizer.

I thought "Am I going to see this guy's entire morning routine from 1990"

"Here I was dropping a deuce, April 1990"

"Toast and Jam, April 1990"

"Warming up the Toyota Celica, April 1990"

I skipped around in it, so I may have missed it, but it looks like he neglected to go out on the trail to film the stoners and metalheads toking up.

The hallway scenes especially took me back, and made me remember the constant pushing through crowds of people between each class. I'm guessing that hair and clothes aside, the same footage could be taken today, but maybe things have changed in terms of how people group and identify in high school? When I was there the divisions were very simplistic, pretty much like a Hughes movie -- preps, jocks, nerds, stoners, etc.

Found via the Reddit thread on the subject of the post, 1990 Stoneham [Massachusetts] High School Last Day! The accents and hair are wicked awesome.

I don't think this has changed since Horace Mann's time.

OH man.. Howard Cosell.

It's amazing how much has not really changed. The morning news could have been played today.

Yeah, I'm noticing a distinct lack of stoners/heshers/metalheads/punks/burnouts.

Oh, wait- there's a few out on the bleachers.

Also, this video led me to the absolutely delightful 2:30am at a 7-11 near Disney World - 1987

This was all vaguely familiar until the teacher somewhere around the 20 minute mark pronounced "Thursday" as "Therz-DEE" and then I was suddenly back in home room again.

Having just walked through a high school hall, man I miss when kids didn't have to be in uniforms in public school. I mean, how are we going to make fun of my son's generation videos when they're all wearing polo shirts and khaki.

Because, sartorially, I am full on ready to make fun of my generations hair, clothes and media choices, as evidenced by these movies.

10 years earlier, but this reminded me of this wonderful breakdown of an outstanding Freaks and Geeks scene. Specifically, "Paul Feig, the show’s creator, once told me that the thing about the early ’80s in the Midwest was that they were really still the ’70s."

OH man.. Howard Cosell.

Also Paul Harvey

And Bryant Gumbel!

This video has also convinced me that the job I want most is Time Traveler

So, if anybody has an opening

Oh my God, it's like he took the same route to school that I did, all cutting through the subdivisions that were built in the '60s, probably to the same plans. And hearing Paul Harvey's voice on the radio - wow, well, I can't say I miss his segment, but it reminds me of feeling comfortable and safe. I took the liberty of looking up the Ayala sisters; it seems that everything went as well with their case as could be hoped, and as of 2013 they were doing well in the world.

As someone who studied archaeology and history, I was grateful even for his morning routine. It's not yet much different from ours - the same kitchen gadgets, pretty much - but someday it will be.

It strikes me that this is the year that Flood came out. I wonder if he had it. It was pretty much made for him.
