A recent story on a pup who couldn't hack police training and had to settle for just making a lot of people really happy

*3 dog years later*

“So, I just dropped out to follow my dreams. Working for the man just isn't something I'm cut out for. It wasn't the life for me. I now make people happy. I'm living my own life.”

Airport sniffer dogs find 'cheese and sausages' but no Class A drugs.

Airport sniffer dogs respectfully dissent on definition of "Class A drugs".

I was just perusing the excellent web site NakedCapitalism where I came across this article:

The article points out that that government propaganda is endemic:
However it’s also been well documented that moviemakers are actively encouraged by government agencies to present a certain image of the world. Nicholas Schou, for example, explains how:

“Since the mid-1990s, but especially after 9/11, American screenwriters, directors, and producers have traded positive portrayal of the spy profession in film or television projects for special access and favours at CIA headquarters.”

In an interview with The Guardian, veteran CIA operative Chase Brandon confirmed that “We’ve always been portrayed erroneously as evil and Machiavellian…It took us a long time to support projects that portray us in the light we want to be seen in.” And shows like NCIS already receive special assistance from the US military.

Most people don’t think the TV programmes or films they watch are propaganda, just as they don’t like to think that their opinions aren’t their own, but these examples show that confirmation bias is hard at work under the surface of the media. In that case, what can be done?
The CIA doesn't murder innocent people in their beds. They have cute dogs.

Just because you have a cute dogge doesn't make us forget about everything you've done over the last sixty or so years. Bad propaganda, Bad!

I was a navy brat and was in the Marines. I'm saying me and the military go way back.

And that sentence explains so much about this scene.

Lulu story reminds me of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation dogs but in reverse. They look for rescue or donated dogs which would normally be too much for families to handle, because they need jobs to be happy. We donated to them for a wedding gift one year, and the annual brochure is full of cute happy doggy faces training to save people's lives.
Every time I hear of a disaster I think of these guys, and they have been busy this year.

They're all good dogs, Brent, even the dropouts (who all get adopted).

I think this kind of thing is what happened to my aunt and uncle's guide dogs--not a one of them made it to actually guiding a blind person, I think they just lost interest once they had to leave Happy Fun Time Dog House and go back to school.

Me, i would say that the dogs who decline to work for imperialist invaders, much like the dogs who decline to work for fascist pigs, are the very opposite of "failures". And they are very good dogs.
