Start the "formerly known as formerly known as..." jokes now: I find this tremendously disappointing, but the first person to actually adopt an icon as his name has reversed the decision, a scant 7 years into the adventure.

Prince is, once again, Prince. R.I.P. The Artist

You must really hate your record company if you change your name to a strange glyph to spite them.

Does this mean he'll start making good music again? I'm still hanging onto "Raspberry Beret"...

I was under the impression he could not legally use the name according to the terms of his former contract. I dunno, that's what I thought he said on a BET interview a year ago, or so.

Or he could legally use the name as long as he sent n% Warners' way.

Now the question is... will ge bring back "The Revolution" or "The New Power Generation" as his back up band.

Does this mean the drink "formerly known as O.J." will make a come back, as I find "Orange Juice" just too hard to mutter in the mornings? :)

YES Uncle Joe...another "OJ Joke"! I Couldn't resist....

Actually, there's a mumble going on about 8-bit domain names.. Oh, the humanity...

I'd just like to point out that, one year later, the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince didn't start making good music again, and except for his most diehard fans, has largely gone unnoticed.

Damn, Zach, what are you doing in my thread? He had one good song he put out on his music club. And he put out a lot of old stuff from back when he was good.

But, yeah. It sucks to see someone so promising suck so bad.
