Transient is a short film by Dustin Farrell, with an arresting mix of dramatic weather timelapses and super-slow-motion lightning strikes. (via Colossal)

Amazing film. Please do yourself a favor and find an uninterrupted moment to enjoy it on a big screen with decent sound. Thunderstorms really make the stark beauty of these landscapes stand out.

Seconded I turned it off in my phone for this very reason.

The way the lightning strikes are synced up to the music is pretty excellent.

I added it to a growing Olbinski folder who has been posted a few times on MF and I thought the music of this effort poorly replicated those compositions, but was a much needed and expertly executed visual complement. I'll mix over the sound. Olbinski's credit to his family for indulging his passion versus the slick credits of this production company comprises another bias.

I'm not just a databug. I "collect" them for exhibition in schools.
