Noting the upcoming Olympics, here is the LSO performing Chariots Of Fire at the opening of the London Olympics featuring a rather distracted keyboardist. (SLYT)

Always have to admire those multitalented celebrities. Actor, symphony musician, athlete.

Truly a man for all seasons.

Ah, the last time you could be proud to be British... the UK 'limpics, we didn't cock it like all thought we were gonna when they produced this this. As we now charge off the brexit cliff look back and weep.

Aptly, the Chariots of Fire theme fits perfectly with this old scout song....

And who can forget this unexpected bit of Pink Floyd from the closing ceremonies! The organizers really did have some fun inserting odd bits of British culture throughout the ceremonies.

Mr Bean's predicament reminds me of the "The One Note Man" by HM Bateman (supposedly the world's greatest cartoon). As a matter of fact, I think this view will be fairly familiar to any Olympic athlete.

This reminds me of this rant about being a cellist playing Pachelbel's Canon.

Seeing the initial reveal of Mr Bean when this was live in 2012 was my favourite bit of the evening.

Although the queen parachuting in was also pretty badass.

I was really anti-2012-olympics during the interminable build up to this in the years before. But after the opening ceremony it totally won me over, and then the Paralympics (remember this amazing c4 campaign?) seemed especially transformative.
