Nice. Every so often I half-heartedly search for the original, and now here it is!

Surely Strong Bad deserves a shoutout as a necessary precursor.

The original is probably permanently imprinted on my brain somewhere. Out of habit I still sometimes start conversations with "H'okay. SO." A few times the person I'm talking with has immediately recognized it and is like, "holy shit, I haven't thought about that in over a decade!!" so I suspect I'm not the only one...

btfreek, true facts: In trying to find my comment in a previous post on this video, I learned that I had already used hokay to start two comments, and once "Hokay, so "exactly. As the previous post was by also divabat, I salute you, OP, for continuously reminding us where from our verbal ticks arose.
That said, the new video is just a little too on the nose for today's times, I hope one day I can look back and laugh at it.

Cold Lurkey: HA! I forgot I made the other FPP about End of the World too. And yeah, I use "OKAY SO" a lot in my communication but forgot that this video is possibly where I got it from.

Wait, sudden realization - is "le sigh"/"I am le tired" the origin of the "le ______" meme/cliché of the Redditor MRAs/associated gross communities?

"... one of the first-ever viral videos..."?
In 2003?

Um... we were already using the term "viral video" in the mid to late '90s.

There were viral videos before Ebaum's and Something Awful and Youtube...

"Troops" (the Star Wars "COPS" spoof) came out in '96 or '97 and that thing was being shared at just about every software company, university or business with a fast-enough connection that allowed you to download and watch it.

Two kids named Trey Parker and Matt Stone made a video with cardboard cutouts in 1995 and titled it "Spirit of Christmas". That was a big one. So big they got a job at Comedy Central.. ;)

"... one of the first-ever viral videos..."?
In 2003?

And yet from your starting date of 1995 to this 2003 video you provide only 2 examples, so I think this would still qualify as "one of the first".

I've been starting sentences with 'H'okay' for so long I kept forgetting the origin of it, then remembering, then forgetting again.
