"Get Out" is the first single from CHVRCHES upcoming third album. [SLYT] The Glasgow synthpop trio's currently untitled album is a collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin, who previously worked with Adele's 25 album. The music video contains a few easter eggs, for those who are paying attention.

One easter egg is the phone number 1-800-674-3364, where you can hear a recording of Lauren Mayberry reading a poem.

It's no Leave a Trace but I'll take it.

This single sounds pretty good, but the collaboration with the guy who worked on Adele's 25? That's not promising. 25 took everything interesting about Adele and ironed it out, buried her vocals, made her sound as sterile and canned as a pop starlet.

Hopefully the band's personality and Lauren's vox can survive the treatment. I just wanted to rant again at how much I goddamn hated 25, after loving 21 to death.

skullhead: I dunno. The only other album Greg Kurstin produce that I'm familiar with (aside from his work with The Bird and the Bee) is DEVO's Something For Everybody, and I think he did a fine job with that.

She has the stage presence of a Dolly Parton to me: Self aware and self-effacingly comic. Interacts with the audience between every number but not too much.

Possibly you are coloring my listening experience here, but the chorus does sound a bit, um, "normal".

I'll probably like it more after a few listens.

Conversely, I've never bothered with Chvrches, but Greg Kurstin's name is the reason I'm about to click that link. He produced Lily Allen's masterly second album (the one with "The Fear") and parts of her first, as well as Sia's amazing 1000 Forms of Fear (with "Chandelier") and Beck's equally brilliant Colors. Always manages to get some catchy pop sounds out of whatever song he's working on. Second most reliable pop producer of the moment after Max Martin.
