It's still an important shared experience to me, damn it!

When news broke that WWE would be bringing back the Starrcade name, a lot of people took notice. When it turned out it was going to be only for a house show (i.e. not televised), there was more than a little grumbling and head scratching. Uproxx writer Brandon Stroud wrote about Starrcade, what it meant to him and his family growing up, and what it meant to see the revival of the show with his parents.

Come for the great writing about wrestling, stay for 59 year-old Arn Anderson giving Dolph Ziggler a Spinebuster.

Stroud's words are beautiful, and if some of you are pausing before clicking through because of the Pro Wrestling content, you don't have to know a thing about it to appreciate the feelings.

That Dusty Rhodes eulogy linked in the article, though. Nah, that's not dust in my eye, I'm crying.

Thank you for sharing this!

Wow, that was really powerful. Pro wrestling was my biggest passion as a kid (and for a longer portion of my young adulthood than I care to admit), having been introduced to the entertainment form by my dad who used to watch Saturday afternoon wrestling on TBS in the early 80s. He actually took me to my first live wrestling show on rainy night at an outdoor stadium in San Jose to see my favorite, Jimmy Snuka, take on Magnificent Muraco. The concept of nostalgia and using wrestling as a connecting point to a parent is something that was very relatable to me.
