Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a cellist from Nottingham, England. In 2016 he won the BBC Young Musician of the Year award, the first black musician to do so. He's just released his first record-breaking album, which along with classical pieces, has covers of 'Hallelujah' and 'No Woman No Cry'. He also has six siblings who all play to concert standard too.

The title comes a bbc documentary about Sheku and his family that's no longer on their site but you can find it in the dodgier parts of the web

Hallelujah is a favorite of mine, and that is a truly great rendition of it.

He is one talented young man.

I suppose it wouldn't be surprising that a young British cellist would be an admirer of Jacqueline du Pre, but it still delights me to no end.

Ooh! I played the cello for the very first time this weekend! This is inspiring me to do it again. Beautiful!

Oh wow! Spotify randomly served up his "No Woman No Cry" for me recently and I loved it. Had no idea who the artist was.
