AI Punk

Dadabots' Bot Prownies is the first punk rock album created by artificial intelligence.

The computer algorithm was trained with NOFX's Punk in Drublic.

Listen to previous Dadabots experiments (previously).

The machine listened to Punk in Drublic 26 times over several days. The machine generated 900 minutes of audio.

Your favorite AI sucks.

Well, I mean. I started listening to the first track before reading any of the description and said to myself "This is Linoleum." Then I read further and, yes, in fact, it is Linoleum. It's the garbled audio of a permanent tape-eating tape deck, eating Linoleum.

I actually like it.

Also, I heard they suck live.

I have their first 7zip.

They asked me to be their sysadmin. I called bullshit on that.

SampleRNN is dead.

Thanks to Megaturing though, I now know what a Battles remix would sound like.

I used to like AI punk but then they sold out.

In my day the olds were worried about backmasking. Now we're worried about backpropagation?

Sounds better than some of the stuff I heard when I was reviewing demos for Ben is Dead.

Not actually worse than most skate punk.

I only listened to the first song, but it sounded pretty decent to me, certainly a lot better than it could be.

"One Million Governments" is punk as shit. Or a Culture ship name. Or both.

Needs more training, but I like the phoneme Markov mishmash and the flexible vocalist timing.

I'd like to see this done, but with the entirety of punk rock poured into it.

I don't understand the fascination with these things, so I'm probably missing something, but it says they rearranged the album into 900 minutes of stuff, then picked out the best parts.
That's called making music.

Just don't call them samples, which are only used by lazy people to make fake "music."

I'm not extremely familiar with the album; I just sort of know it in the way that everyone who was a teenager in the 90s does.

But this version makes me feel so weird, I can barely describe it. Like, it's clearly NOFX, and I'll listen to a bit and kind of be enjoying it, and then I'll get this dizzy and almost nauseous feeling.
