Titan might seem an unlikely place to for humans to build settlements, and maybe eventually colonize. After all, it is so far from the sun, and extraordinarily cold, and it's a long journey to get there (at present). But actually, if you set aside the difficulty of getting there, which we should overcome as our technology improves—it's got more going for it than you might think.

I recall a scientific paper on Titan's native sirens, sounded perfectly charming. Sign me up.

The winds at ground level are only 1-2 miles per hour, but at a height of 40 km, wind speeds reach around 45 miles per hour, and a blimp born windmill of 40 - 90 meters in diameter could generate hundreds of megawatts. The wind speeds reach 200 miles per hour at 100 km.

Mars is relatively close and balmy by comparison.

Ah yes, to be an oxygen breathing organism living on an idyllic world made entirely of combustibles. After coming indoors from a rainy walk to the park, you could hang up your "low tech" jacket to dry; but instead of evaporating water you would have evaporating methane gas. It would be like a mini gas leak every time you go outdoors. Don't light a match.

Where do I sign up for this marvelous destination?

Don’t worry; with that level of precision, the parts of the ship won’t even fit together.

Everything we need is here. Right here. We can live simply: gardening, beach combing. I'm a changed man, mother. No more chemicals or poisons. If what you want isn't washed up on this beach, you probably don't need it.

I'm unlikely to take advice on the comforts of a place from someone who obviously engages in ZERO personal grooming. That's how you end up on camping trips where you have to sleep in a tree in the rain because of all the bears and there's like 8 million ticks the size of grapes.

Hey, his facial hair would provide valuable warmth AND look great on Titan.

He has the kind of beard that could support its own ecosystem.

I was recently given a report to review, and one of the first stumbling blocks was the total jumble of units. I’m ok with either system, as long as you pick one and run with it. Mixing and matching is not great.

Oh boy let's live in a place where everything everywhere all the time smells terrible.

My-gf-the-astrophysicist has described it as "a giant fart orbiting Saturn".

Plans are already afoot, apparently. Not going so well.

To be fair, that damn blimp has been outside my apartment all night.

Who said interplanetary space travel and loving Earth has to be separate? Both can be awesome.
