Stunt Men Recreate Video Game Fighters

I'm not a gamer so I have no idea how well these guys do. But it's certainly very cleverly done, and well done, too. And the stunt guys seem to put their all into the depictions. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

No Solid Snake in a box, no deal.

Thing is, pretty much every one of the the games they're referencing use a lot of motion capture and real live stunt performers to make their games look so fluid and real-ish. So yeah it is cool to see them straight up cosplaying these roles and bringing these characters to life, but in the end the difference between what they're doing for this shoot and what was done to create of lot of the motion you see in modern AAA games is a body suit covered in ping pong balls.

Another rough day at the empty cardboard box factory, I see!

I was hoping for Voldo. Maybe another time —

Good stuff. Those folks work really hard. Needs some Lara Croft, though. Maybe in the part 2.

Needs some XCOM where they hide behind cover for 10 minutes or so then are killed the moment they move.

I feel like the Brothers Chaps do a better job with their own motion capture

Oh, I thought from the title that it would be characters from fighting games, haha.

Voldo has already given us so much.

This was well done. Those guys know their shit. Maybe some women in the next one would be nice tho, lots of talented stuntwomen out there.

Yeah, same. I was wondering "how are they going to do a hurricane kick? and how are they going to stretch their arms halfway across the screen?"

I was wondering if they might do Dark Souls, where the guy rolls around for 5 minutes while taking drinks from a Sunny D bottle.

I was hoping for Skyrim, but realistically speaking it would have just been arrows flying out of dark corners and headshotting everyone.

Had my fingers crossed for Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. Maybe the next one is all women!

And just to be authentically Skyrim nobody notices, or remembers thirty seconds later.

They nailed Nathan Drake. It would have been inauthentic had he not spent half the time getting his ass kicked.

I don't know why, but I was delighted at seeing a bunch of them in what appeared to be just socks on their feet.

i haven't played any of the more recent Uncharted lately (I think the last one I played was Uncharted 3), but I don't remember a whole lot of fighting...

I mean, yes, and I think part of this is probably done as a resume piece for the stuntpeople involved? That doesn't make actually getting to see it less cool though.

Motion capture actors drive video game characters, inspiring these stuntmen to turn those animations back into movement. Maybe this reel will land a couple of them mocap work, thus completing the loop.

Eric Jacobus is worth adding to this thread, a martial artist who duplicates fighting game characters' entire movesets.
