Israel to launch flying casino

Israel to launch flying casino Ah...there he goes again. No. This is not about middle east chaos. This is gambling for "high stakes"--casino in the air. Claimed to be a first, can this sort of thing "take off" and be established in other countries? Would you try this form of gambling?

Tons of money in a plane taking off from a country perpetually at war.

Sounds pretty safe.

It would make roulette an interesting exercise in physics.

And I'm not sure I want to be sitting next to an unstable gambling addict who just lost the rent and is scraping the nadir of despair.

On another tack, though, this could be the start of airline class-mobility. You start in coach and try to win enough to get into business, then first class.

I wouldn't try it in Israel.

The payout must be very low to compensate for the cost of operating 747s as they fly around in circles. And will people continue to do this when/if peace finally does come back to the Middle East and Israelis once again flock to the Oasis casino in Jericho?

Living in Israel is already a gamble.

In more important news, Israel launched a spy satellite to keep track of the many rats on its borders.

"The ruling is destructive to Israeli business and culture. Especially today, when the attention of Israelis has been turned to the devastating results of gambling culture, it is more and more clear that the discussion of legalizing gambling should be removed from the agenda."

I didn't know gambling was illegal in Israel; anyone know what this line is referring to?

Being dehydrated in a cramped cabin while fucking bells and dingers of every sort incessantly wail away, losing money, without option of escape, sounds like LOADS of fun.

I would do it if it were a dirigible. I've always wanted to ride in a Zeppelin. :)

Bad idea, not to mention the bad timing for such an idea.

I'm curious, also. Is this a reference to Arabs? I'm familiar with Islamic religious practices, but not with the corners of their culture.

Where are our Arab friends on this?
