I was gutted Rubicon was cancelled after one season. The tone was amazing, evoking tense 70s (spy) thrillers.

Man, I forgot about Rubicon. It was half Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, half 3 Days of the Condor. Now we have (simply) Condor which... isn't.

I remember going all in on Rubicon, it felt like a smarter more tightly focused Homeland. And then it just went away. It had promise.

I loved Northern Exposure. There's a town. Nobody in it is a cliche. That's it!

Carnivale was one of those shows, like Lost, where I invested a lot of time into it only to slowly realize the writers were making it up as they went along week by week. This is okay for a lot of shows, but not ones that keep suggesting all the plot points are going to eventually come together in some amazing way. But wow the setting and tone was amazing. I'll give a listen.

Rubicon is why I won't start watching a spy series unless they post a completion bond or it is already done.

Never even heard of Rubicon, but it sounds up my alley.

srboisvert - if you haven't already, you may now safely start The Americans.

xammerboy, you take it back. Carnavale was brilliant, and the plots were profoundly tight up until they realized they weren't getting renewed and had to cram 2 seasons into 3 episodes.
