Mesopotamian ghostbusting with Irving Finkel I Curator's Corner | The British Museum.
Favorite beard is at it again with Sumerian tablets and ghostlies.
"... everybody believed in ghosts [...] it was a day-to-day thing that everybody took for granted. But also they weren't on the whole frightened of them, but rather, sympathetic. Because they thought [the ghosts] were troubled and they couldn't rest and they needed to be looked after."That's very sweet.

I binged all the Irving Finkel content I could after another FPP with him - he's great. Thanks for posting!

That was educational and entertaining! I would pay cash money for a series of lectures on Mesopotamia by Dr. Finkel.

I enjoyed this! And now I know the British Museum has a lot of cool stuff on YouTube.

I have a secret wish that a couple of thousand years from now that that beard reincarnated will have a snort or a chuckle examining my little bit of detritus. It's almost a project.
