he was one of my very first "grown up" musical crushes back in high school. he blew my mind back then with his wildness and unrestrained joy, he inspires me with the peace and beauty he exudes here. I think I still have a musical crush on him.

Oh this is lovely. I remember when I was listening to him and Sufjan Stevens a lot and suddenly it seemed that Stevens was everywhere surfing some hipster wave and Banhart just kept on doing his same old excellent stuff. This is beautiful. Thank you.

I saw Devendra Banhart at a Portland house show way back when; I bought his cd because I figured I wouldn't remember his name and he'd just vanish into obscurity, but some of the songs were catchy and I wanted to hear them again. Seeing him visibly age while continuing to do his thing has been such an intriguing journey.

I just listened to this ten minute guitar duo version of 'Seahorse'-- this is relevant to my interests.

Lovely stuff. And sometime that is just about all that is required.

When I was at university I lived with a guy who looked 100% identical to Devendra Banhart and who also rarely wore a shirt.
It's still a possibility that it was just Devendra Banhart using a pseudonym.
