"it’s like the Daily Mail, but distilled to its angry, horny core"

“The hardest thing has been getting people who dislike the Daily Mail to take one. Quite a few people seem to think that miniature versions of newspapers is just a thing that is happening now." In partnership with satirical "cultural experiment" Rapid Response Unit, Darren Cullen created a parody edition of the Daily Mail, giving out copies in Liverpool.

Brilliant, thanks for the link Juso and Previously on Metafilter in 2005 for his Santa billboard advert.

"THE ONLY 'EUROPEAN UNION' BRITAIN SHOULD BE A MEMBER OF WAS DESTROYED OVER 70 YEARS AGO."

I like how when it gets to the pages on Lord Rothermere and the Daily Mail's long-standing tradition of open support for fascism and bigotry of all kinds (continuing through to the present day) it kind of has to hit the pause button on the satire for a second and just say, "Wait. Hang on. We're not just taking the piss. Here's stuff about how people should support Hitler that it actually published."

It's solid work through and through.

This compressed, hand-drawn paper draws attention to the glaring hypocrisies baked into a rag that claims to care about things like moral decency and the sexualisation of children, while also regularly publishing photographs of underage girls in bikinis or low-cut dresses. A paper who’s bread and butter is collecting the kind of ‘wardrobe malfunction’ upskirt and nip-slip photographs of strangers that would land anyone else in jail.

The Daily Mail is the pervert the Daily Mail warns us about.

So well put. But more, it sounds like it's pervert-normalizing. If a public paper can publish it, it's a normal part of society.

I admit that I am the owner of two feckless unemployed pets. I have brought down society.

Strange. This is excellent satire but after reading it I still felt grimy, just like when I've unfortunately read the original source material.

So good.

If you fancy a copy, Cullen is doing another print run via Kickstarter at the moment.
