I wonder why?

While playing on hippity hops with my then 4-5 year old daughter, I had one pop like a balloon underneath me (l am not a small person). My daughter thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen, but I have been leery of the things ever since.

It is odd I have traveled around the sun so many times and had never heard of a "space hopper." I was imagining some kind of futuristic four-passenger rocket thing, or at least a jet-powered wing suit. I guess the good part is that this is actually something I could imagine doing, but I can't say I look forward to it.
