Man I hate it when cinematographers recording a dance performance focus on single performers instead of the ensemble. You're cutting out most of what makes an ensemble dance performance interesting, which is the interplay of movements across all the dancers!

That being said, the dancing itself is great.

I love these Kpop in public challenges, they are so fun to watch! My fave isn’t strictly following the challenge but is rather a cover of the actual Blackpink Ddu-du-ddu-du video. I have a couple other good ones I can post when I’m not on my phone.

Another favorite of mine is this one from I Love Dance in New York where they perform (G)Idle's Latata. What makes it so special is the actual Kpop band (G)Idle came to visit them in New York and created a flash mob musical video with them. How cool is that!

Here's the same NY group doing Shine by Pentagon a different style song, that has a real fun vibe.

There's also this one from France, that's I would describe as "Breakfast Club"-esque.

Or you can get your whole family to go along with Baam by Momoland (Bonus: Cute baby dancing!)

Also, don't forget Vietnam!

And don't get me started on reaction or fan chant videos, those are complete rabbit holes of their own.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it was not an exact shot-by-shot recreation of the music video starring preteen Thai girls in what looks to be a park. That is incredible.

The Taiwan clip is lovely. Something I haven't seen yet in other groups is how they also go out of their way to portray the personalities and quirks of person they're mimicking. The Japan group in the competition were a joy to watch, as they were obviously having so much fun.

I'm surprised by the popularity of Fire, seeing as it's an old song, but Fake Love makes sense. I didn't much care for the song when it came out but I really like watching the dance. So dramatic and angsty.

I also have beef with some of the vid coverage these last few years, specifically the dramatic camera zoom and sweep trend (sometimes at bizzare angles) to try and artificially inject more excitement or something into a clip. Just some calm horizontal panning, please, with closeups if the choreography calls for it (shirt lifts, establishing solos, etc). The music and the dance provides excitement enough.
