Any Brits reading this: Who IRL is the man in the first episode photo with the glasses and pipe? Thanks.

That's Eric Morecambe, who was half of the well-known comedy duo Morecambe and Wise.

I've been binging old Big Fat Quiz on youtube recently, which both fills me up with Mitchell, Ayoade, and sometimes Webb, and also allows me to pretend the last three years didn't happen.

haha! Trump's a feckless moron getting taken to task by some Scottish farmer! And dang, that Kristin Schall is an up and comer!

Yes I have seen Mitchell in clips of that quiz show. He's as sharp as a hedgehog riding on a honeybadger and carrying a switchblade just sharpened by Sweeny Todd.

I only saw the first three seasons of Mitchell and Webb, so most of those were new to me. Thanks for putting this all together.

On the up side, this bit is amazing.

On the down side, it made me think about the Event.

Mitchell & Webb are just a fucking amazing duo, all the moreso because they are pretty goddamn amazing on their own.

Interesting factoid: I first saw "That Mitchell & Webb Look" on Netflix. A few years later, I saw the original BBC versions, and there were a few things that had been edited out for US release. One notable sketch cut for Netflix was Jesus teaches about "The Good Samaritan", which I think must have been cut because they worried religious viewers in the US would get upset.

I really wish I had these on DVD or Blu-Ray, some days you want to watch a little Angel Summoner and BMX Bandit or The Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.

Though my favorite sketch of theirs is probably Glucozade Port. "They're just fully recovered! The fools!"

Great stuff!

Speaking of Mitchell and Webb favourites - The That Mitchell and Webb Look sketch Corner Shop has lodged itself in my mind. It breaks my heart every time I watch it.
