"It sounds like the soundtrack of a bad medieval series"

Songs in a major key are probably an old gimmick but nice gems love to be thrown off the vault. And this is indeed an old upload but I first met it today and like that comment in this link, "I'm smiling at the whole audio, while reading comments". They are priceless. So, this is how 'The Final Countdown' would be if it was envisioned by the Pet Shop Boys.
"The undiscovered Bach prelude in his early hair metal days"
"Sounds like an anthem for some country. It should be the anthem for Planet Earth"
"Sounds like the music to the opening ceremony of some 1980s Olympic games"
"Would be amazing as ending for movie Neverending Story"
"Sounds like something straight from an incredible end credits scene from a Cannon Films movie that never existed. Sylvester Stallone rides a motorbike on the beach as the cartoonishly Cold War-ish badguy's hideout blows up with all the hostages safe and taken back to their homes via helicopters"
"Ironically... this makes me sad like i'm losing someone close to me who was fighting a great battle but is finally making it to a better place (like heaven?)"
"I imagine clones of cats riding on unicorns going into battle"

Aw man, that's a bummer. I want to see this.
Literally some of my favorite things in the world are soundtracks to bad medieval series. All the instruments played on keyboards. Some sort of two-measure flute riff. Horn sounds in parallel fifths. Bad choir sounds.

It works in the US as well. Yay! Or should I wait until the video plays before saying that?

If you're fond of this sort of thing, the game Dropmix does this all the time (and makes bits of different songs match each other in key, tonality, and tempo, making for strangely compelling/appalling mashups). And there's a Final Countdown wildcard for the game, meaning that you can not only listen to Final Countdown in a major key during the course of the game, but also listen to Call Me Maybe sung over the Final Countdown synths with the backing percussion of Bangarang.

Thanks for the North America-compatible link! Holy shit, it really does sound like the Pet Shop Boys.

If you didn’t tell me it was reworked I wouldn’t have noticed it was different from the original.

I don't know about the international link, but the US link only contains a small fragment of the song, and that makes me sad because I want to download it and play it in my car over and over and over again.

... a little ...? Just a little ...? IMO, there are a few moments where it really does sound like it's about to become a Pet Shop Boys song and that's delightful, but mostly it just sounds "poppier." Lacking the rhythms and syncopation that characterize PSB songs, I'd describe it more as "The Final Countdown" as submitted to the Eurovision contest. (Or as a score to a movie about clones of cats riding on unicorns going into battle.)

I think it sounds better than the original.

"The undiscovered Bach prelude in his early hair metal days"
I think it's the minor version that sounds much more like the beginning of some big fugue by Bach for the pipe organ. The first little three-note phrase is a straight quote from the most famous organ opening of all time. (And the first phrase of both end on the same note as well. Bach just takes a few more notes to get there.)

The same guy has a version of Pet Shop Boy's Go West in a minor key if you want to take things in a slightly different way...
