Bob Dylan - If You See Her Say Hello (Take 1) (Lyric Video)

Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series Vol. 14 More Blood More Tracks is completely concerned with the many previously unreleased studio performances from 1974's (some have called it his best album) Blood on the Tracks. This is If You See Her Say Hello (take 1) with the words as they hit the page. posted by philip-random (21 comments total) 20 users marked this as a favorite

My copy arrives tomorrow! I’m most excited about the other takes of Up to Me, which is a favorite of mine and I’ve only ever heard the version on Biograph. Recently came across this review of the song which I enjoyed.

Jeff Slate, of The Band, and who wrote the liner notes for Vol. 14, has a write-up about the new release in the New Yorker.

You mean The Badge, not The Band, I think.

I don't do the music geek thing so much anymore as life is now way too busy, so I probably won't get this or hear it, but yeah, Blood on the Tracks is an out and out masterpiece. Best, most visceral, breakup album ever.

This is magnificent. The story is wonderful. But boy, can I tell you I hate the sound of the harmonica. It never used to bother me but I find my miso/phono/lygyrophobia kicking in in my old age. At least there was no whistling.

I don't know if Blood On The Tracks is his best, but there isn't another Dylan album I love more. For a year or so in college, I woke up every morning and listened to the entire record before I did anything else. To this day I still sing the songs to myself and there aren't many days when I don't think of one line or another.

I'd probably put Blood on the Tracks around his fifth best album but that's only because he has made so many great ones. I don't really listen to it too much these days just because I heard it so much in college that I burnt out on it.

Huh - I kind of hoped the songs would be in the same order. I cannot wait to give it a listen!

I have every volume of the Bootleg series on CD so will definitely not be skipping this one. Blood on the Tracks is one of my all-time keepers.

wow that bass player, Tony Brown, is so tight with him on "Tangled Up In Blue". What he plays is much harder to do well than it sounds.

Tangled Up in Blue is my all time favourite song and it's all different here except for the verse, that verse, the all time best verse.

Er, am I the only person that thinks If You See Her is another version of Girl From The North Country (my fave Dylan song)? Multiple similar lyrics, similar delivery and music?
