I thought they were descendants via club kids, not appropriators.

They are queer, and only a couple of people in the video are white.

The glee mash up of this and Turkey Lurkey time might be the camp highlight of last decade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTa3hPXnqXk

I dunno I may have to start watching Glee if they pull Scissor Sisters into it more often.

I really like this edit.

I had assumed from the name that the Scissor Sisters would be a female punk band: awesome on general principle, but not my thing. This, however, may in fact be my thing.

Plus they make super weird art videos too. Scissor Sisters and The Ark are some good good dance dance music.

That video above has nudity, btw.

Aw, it's sad when a band takes this turn. I loved Scissor Sisters old albums but now I can't listen to their music without thinking about this. It reminds me of the band Of Montreal*, whose music I loved until they made an album where Kevin Barnes took on the persona of a fictional black trans woman. When I saw them touring on this album, their opening act was none other than Janelle Monae. Of Montreal's music is also similar to Scissor Sisters in some ways— funky, colorful, gay, piano pop.

* The capitalization is technically "of Montreal," but I'm deliberately capitalizing here because it's easier to read.

Thanks for this: "Let's have a kiki" will be icepicked into my brain to deal with any kind of stress I may encounter today. Stressor No. 1: Not Knowing WTF A Kiki Is.

Also: Of Montreal was waaaaaay better on LSD and not hopped up on believing Kevin Barnes = Prince.

guilty
I have never served, worked, or turned in my life but I have been quietly dancing to this with wireless headphones
(with the blinds lowered, of course, because of the aforementioned squareness
I do not want to make other people sad)
