1995 saw the release of You Sleigh Me, a compilation album of Holiday songs which featured an interesting selection of artists and many really good performances. Oh, my heart. That Juliana Hatfield song brings to mind images of Rickie Vasquez stumbling through the snow with blood on his face. Thank you, hippybear.

Jill Sobule's cover of the best. holiday. song. ever. is the one that leads off my holiday mixtapes (usually followed by Dar William's The Christians and the Pagans, just to let everone know whose side I'm on). It's worth seeking out her holiday EP: It's the Thought That Counts for all the queer holiday fabulousness your party soundtracks deserve.
