It is extremely delightful but also excellent is the fancy framed photo of Captain Holt in the background.

That's a happy little tree if I ever saw one.

This is amazing thank you. Does he have a framed picture of Simon cowell on his mantel?

I didn't know he was left handed.

As it happens I've been watching a whole lot of Bob Ross lately, trying to surreptitiously psych myself up to picking painting up as a hobby, even though I'm not an artistic person at all. I enjoyed watching this, with the flawed technique and all. I also believe that there's some overlap between the sorts of mindsets and world-views Bob Ross was teaching us and those that Terry Crews champions... and that they're both worth understanding.

even though I'm not an artistic person at all. I enjoyed watching this, with the flawed technique and all.

You are a human being, the most gloriously creative animal on this planet, and every single one of us is incredibly expressive and vivid in our own ways. You may lack much (or any) skill or experience with painting at this moment, but it is as learnable as anything else, there is no magic, and once you have even a very basic ability to say anything at all, you’ll find that you have plenty to say (like babies with words).

You are already artistic, and your desire to start painting is your expressive self wanting to manifest. So go ahead and be a bad painter, a humble beginner, a clumsy noob, an eager rookie, a neophyte doofus, or any version of ‘just start, do the thing’ you can muster, because skill is acquired by doing and the only way to be any good at something is to be bad at it first. Please start painting ASAP. Making stuff from your imagination, however well or poorly one is able, is one of the most consistently fulfilling activities I’ve found in life.

Also, I adore Terry Crews and am way too happy about this video. My wife is gonna freak when she wakes up, this will be on all day.

At last! Someone with the same shoe size as Bob. The world may yet right itself.

Not even kidding, watching this is bringing down my resting heart rate, which has been a tad bit high lately.

And he’s right, the color he whipped up to make the background trees IS a really cool color. I LOVE YOU TERRY CALL ME SOMETIME WE’LL HIT UP A PAINT AND SIP NIGHT

Is there nothing Terry Crew can't do?
Turns out, no, there isn't.
(great post, thanks!)

If you want to go back to the original, the Bob Ross Channel is one of the most popular non-gaming streams on twitch.tv (currently with 1800 viewers), which itself gives me a little bit of hope.

There are, I'm told, at least a couple of celebrities that are certified Bob Ross instructors.

But Terry is working with acrylics, so I don't think he's one of them.

I turned this on and my dog, who was sleeping a room away, ran into the living room and curled up in front of the tv to watch with me. She stayed for an entire loop. What a wonderful way to spend an evening, thank you for posting!

Mod note: I added the recorded version to the post for folks who weren't able to tune in live. Thanks for the suggestion, jedicus!

Terry Crews is indeed a national treasure. And if you didn't know, he has a signature red carpet carpet move that's an exuberant leap. And at the Aquaman premiere, he was joined by his son and it was basically the best thing ever. (Note: you should go back through the Go Fug Yourself archives for more leaps if you need a mood lifter today).
